A survey said that Indonesia and the PHILIPPINES have ASIA's MOST music-mad YOUNGSTERS, while the youth of Hong Kong and Singapore prefers the sound of silence. This was from the study done by the entertainment channel MTV to find the Asia's most avid pop music fans.
Results:
71 percent - India's Youth
70 percent - Indonesia's Youth
64 percent - Filipino Youth
All three described themselves as passionate over music and they were followed by:
61 percent - Thailand Youth
45 percent - South Korea's Youth
43 percent - Malaysia's Youth
42 percent - Mainland China and Taiwan's Youth
However Singapore and Hong Kong's Youth finished the bottom:
38 per cent -Singapore's Youth
27 percent- Hong Kong
Young people in these two territories(Singapore and Hong Kong) appears to prefer studying or working than listening to music.
According to MTV nearly 4,000 people with ages that ranges from 15 to 34 were interviewed for the said survey and those who scored their passion for music at seven out of 10 or above were classified as passionate.
